The Charlotte Fire Department of Charlotte, NC is hosting the Metropolitan Fire Chiefs Conference.

We at the Charlotte Fire Department are excited about the chance to welcome you to our city for the 2011 Metropolitan Fire Chiefs Conference. We are honored to be one of only two cities that have hosted the conference twice since it began in 1965. I know many of you attended the 2001 conference, and I look forward to sharing with you the changes and growth that our city has seen in the past ten years.
For those that came in 2001, you are going to be surprised at how much our city has grown. Our Uptown area has expanded to include new facilities such as Time Warner Cable Arena, home to the NBA's Charlotte Bobcats, and the NASCAR Hall of Fame. We pride ourselves on our new museums such as the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art and the Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts & Culture, both of which are within walking distance of the conference hotel. Charlotte has put a lot of effort into becoming a world class city, and we look forward to sharing this with you.
Our department is working hard to create an informative and entertaining program for you and your partners. We are going to treat you to southern hospitality at its finest from the moment you step off the plane until you get back to the hotel to return home. Our team is making sure that your needs are taken care of whether you are attending meetings, going to the Partners' events, or are enjoying some of the best southern cuisine and entertainment in the evenings.
